Job summary

Lumen Technologies, Inc. in Gig Harbor, WA is seeking a Customer SVC Tech to install, repair, and maintain copper and fiber networks for residential and small business customers. You will work on POTS and DSL, copper/fiber splicing, and related services, testing lines and documenting results.

The role requires physical work, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to work overtime or on-call shifts. This full-time position is located in Gig Harbor, WA with a daytime schedule and potential

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a customer facing telecom operations technician.
• Basic electricity training or certification or equivalent work experience.
• ADSL installation/repair experience (self/full installs).
• A+/Net+ Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and test copper cables for projects, maintenance, and emergency repairs.
• Perform reel, continuity, and conformance testing using industry-standard equipment (e.g., OTDR).
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair existing copper networks to ensure service continuity.
• Install, configure, and enable residential and small business telecommunication services (POTS, HSI, VDSL, FTTH).
• Connect and manage wiring/cabling, terminals, and hardware attachments on customer premises and poles.
• Read and interpret service orders, repair tickets, diagrams, and maps to execute work accurately.
• Coordinate testing of customer lines with test centers and document results per standards.
• Interact with customers to assess requirements, confirm issues, and suggest solutions.
• Update service orders and advise customers on equipment features and usage.
• Identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities during customer interactions.
