Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support utility construction for telecom projects. You will operate backhoes, trenchers, cable plows, and hydraulic reel trailers, performing routine maintenance and ensuring safety and productivity on site.

You will read utility locates, troubleshoot field issues, and work with a team on long-term projects, bringing hands-on expertise and a safety-first mindset to the job.

Qualifications

• Safety is a part of your day-to-day.
• Experience operating heavy equipment on a construction site.
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for driving purposes (CDL preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and hands-on approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Operate light construction equipment, including backhoes, cable plows, trenchers, hydraulic reel trailers, and maintain them as required.
• Troubleshoot field issues as they arise.
• Read utility locates and above-ground indicators to ensure crew safety and productivity.
