Job summary

Smartsearchonline is seeking a Civil Laborer in Escondido, CA to support crews installing and repairing telecommunication lines and equipment. Responsibilities include gathering materials, hand locating utilities, digging trenches, grading landscapes, and safely operating jobsite equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver license, and the ability to pass a background check. Prior civil/construction labor experience is preferred for this contract-to-hire position.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Driver License may be required with a satisfactory driving record.
• Must clear criminal background check.
• Prior civil/construction laboring experience required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers materials for the job each day and ensures the crew has everything required.
• Safely distributes materials at job site.
• Hand locates existing utilities.
• Hand grades landscape areas.
• Hand digs trenches for conduits.
• Safely operates construction/jobsite equipment.
• Unloads and replaces and secures equipment, backfill or perform further operation after completion of ditch line digs for gas mains, both new and existing.
• Lifts heavy equipment for installation, when needed.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
• All other duties as required.
