Job summary

The Site Coordinator – Teen Program at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire oversees supervision of middle and high school youth and implements educational, recreational, and STEAM-focused programs aligned with the organization's mission.

You will lead a team, maintain a safe, engaging environment, manage attendance, and communicate with families while ensuring program quality and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

  • Preferred background in adolescent development, education, or youth behavior management.
  • Must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license and at least four years of driving experience.
  • CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee educational, recreational, and STEAM programs that engage youth.
  • Ensure programs comply with organizational, partner, state and federal regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Plan and lead engaging themes, activities, and field trips.
  • Report and help resolve complaints according to procedures.
  • Submit accurate daily attendance records.
  • Provide leadership and supervision for youth, staff and volunteers while maintaining a staff-to-youth ratio of 1:20.
  • Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress.

The Site Coordinator – Teen Program

oversees the supervision of middle school and high school youth and implementation of educational, recreational, and STEAM focused programs, ensuring they align with the organization's mission and goals. Collaborating with the Teen Program staff, the Site Coordinator creates a fun, safe, and engaging environment for youth. This role ensures compliance with all policies and fosters an inclusive atmosphere where youth feel secure and supported.

Essential Job Functions
  • Lead and oversee educational, recreational, and STEAM based programs that engage and inspire youth members.
  • Ensure that each teen program is operating in compliance with organizational, partnering agency, state and federal regulations and requirements and internal policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Promote a fun, engaging, and safe atmosphere, including planning and leading themes, activities, and field trips.
  • Awareness of Student Success and behavior policies, procedures and referral processes.
  • Welcome new members, explain rules, and encourage participation.
  • Report and help resolve complaints or concerns according to established procedures.
  • Submit accurate daily attendance records.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision for youth, staff and volunteers while maintaining a staff-to-youth ratio of 1:20.
  • Collect, report and analyze student data to monitor progress and impact.
  • Work closely with the Programming and Quality department on program planning, development, implementation, and assessment to ensure quality and effectiveness.
  • Oversee the care and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and facilities.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in required training sessions.
  • Support special events, activities, and outings.
  • Drive vehicles in accordance with transportation schedules.
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and serving meals and snacks, including reporting requirements.
  • Act as a point of contact for family communication as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Connection Coordinator and Sr Director of Operations – Teen Program.
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Previous experience, education, or training in adolescent development, secondary education, or youth behavior management is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a minimum of four years of driving experience.
  • A valid CPR Certification or the ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of employment is required. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire does provide training for those not certified.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements
  • Constant hearing, hand-eye coordination, mind-eye coordination.
  • Intermittent speaking, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting, reaching, low-level activity, and squatting.
  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases.
  • Frequent lifting of objects under 20 pounds, and occasional lifting of items up to 75 pounds.
  • Indoor with minimal outdoor work. Extreme temperatures in the summer and winter to be expected.
