SAFE HARBOR VETERINARY SPECIALTY SE, a privately owned small-animal specialty clinic, seeks Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Technician Assistants to join a newly opened, fully equipped hospital with advanced capabilities including ultrasound and ECHO. Ideal candidates have prior veterinary clinic experience, animal handling skills, and a strong understanding of veterinary terminology.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• Highschool diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of veterinary experience.
• Be able to lift 40lbs.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, bathing, and general care for hospitalized animals.
• Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
• Administer medications accurately following veterinary instructions.
• Monitor animal vital signs and observe for any signs of distress or illness.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Support emergency critical care procedures as needed including animal catheterization (peripheral and central line), naso-gastric tube placement/maintenance and maintaining chest and abdominal drains.
• Anesthesia monitoring.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment using aseptic techniques.
• Support laboratory procedures such as sample collection, processing, and basic testing.
• Assist with client communications during intake, hospitalization and discharging from the hospital.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with compassion and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have prior veterinary clinic experience, animal handling skills, and a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and procedures.
