Job summary

ServiceMaster of Columbia in Missouri seeks a Restoration Technician to monitor, inspect and complete tasks for drying, demolition and restoration activities, documenting notes, photos and documents for insurance reimbursement. The role involves explaining processes to customers in person and ensuring next steps toward resolution.

The candidate will retrieve work orders, load equipment, perform water damage repair, maintain quality control, and coordinate with supervisors to resolve issues,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Experience with mobile software to enter data.
• Able to read and follow product label usage instructions.
• Punctual and able to arrive in uniform.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Certifications are not required but preferred: WTR – Water Damage Restoration Technician; ASD – Applied Structural Drying Technician.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves work orders, checks route for travel, ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on truck for each job.
• Explain processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution to customers using printed materials as a guide with or without supervisor.
• Completes assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job.
• Performs water damage repair, including water extraction, pack-out of contents, disposal of non-salvageable materials, and light construction as directed by supervisor.
• Ensures equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled; reports any equipment malfunction or damage to supervisor.
• Inspects jobs after completion, obtains customer signatures for approval, and requests payments when necessary.
• Performs daily monitoring and tasks on assigned water jobs for residential/commercial customers with urgency.
• Adjusts the drying plan daily based on meter readings.
• Resolves issues with customers and communicates with supervisor and key staff.
• Prepares documentation and pictures to support insurance reimbursement.

Position Overview

Job Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience in the restoration or construction industry not required but preferred
• Valid Drivers’ License and satisfactory driving record
• Good verbal and written and communication skills
• Good customer service skills
• Experience with using mobile software to enter data
• Can read and follow product label usage instructions
• Reports to work on time in a clean, complete uniform
• Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
• Certifications are not required but preferred:
