Job summary

The Blue Collar Recruiter of Marietta in New York City is seeking a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of crane equipment, including All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Boom Trucks, and knuckle booms. Mechanical experience with electrical and hydraulics is required.

The role supports business growth by expanding customer relationships and market presence, with travel to select NY/NJ locations and a sign-on/relocation package at select sites.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, Greer systems.
  • Ability to read manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain mobile crane equipment.
  • Operate and inspect cranes to diagnose defects.
  • Test repaired equipment to OEM specs.
  • Prepare parts and drawings for jobs; ensure accuracy.
  • Complete reports, timesheets, and paperwork promptly.
  • Travel 1–4 day intervals for field techs; overtime/weekends as needed.

We're hiring Mobile Crane Mechanics/Technicians in New York City, with additional openings across New Jersey and other NY/NJ area locations. Job Summary

This position will inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on various crane equipment, including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.). Mechanical experience required with electrical and hydraulics.

It is part of this role's responsibility to help grow the business by identifying new opportunities and contributing to the development of customer relationships and market presence.

Candidates will be required to take a skill assessment as part of the interview/hiring process.

Key Responsibilities
  • A minimum 2 years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician that can operate and inspect cranes in order to diagnose defects
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, and Greer systems
  • Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
  • Reads and understands operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications
  • Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness
  • Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision
  • Maintains conformity to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations
  • Properly fills out working reports, hours reports, time slots, work orders, and other company and customer paperwork in a timely and efficient manner
  • Must complete expense reports in a timely manner as dictated by company policy
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends is a plus. Travel is required periodically for 1 to 4-day intervals for field techs. Shop technicians work 40-50 hours/week; field technicians work 40-80 hours/week depending on customer needs
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required for field technician positions - CDL preferred

History of working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically:

  • Grove RT and TMS Cranes
  • Grove GMK European Cranes
  • Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Palfinger, IMT, Cormach, National, Demag, Manitex, and similar equipment
