Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Technology Transfer Engineer to drive the movement of innovative technologies from R&D to scalable production. You will collaborate across R&D, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure knowledge transfer and process alignment.

The role requires overseeing transfer plans, documentation, and training while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Domestic and international travel may be involved as part of benchmarking and deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science, or related field).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technology transfer, R&D, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of SAP PP module and international standards of product safety and quality.
  • Experience transferring complex technologies from development to production environments.
  • Ability to implement training and SOP updates when introducing new machinery or processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technology transfer projects from concept validation through full-scale production implementation.
  • Partner with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and external stakeholders for seamless knowledge transfer.
  • Develop and execute technology transfer plans with timelines, resources, and risk mitigation.
  • Translate technical findings into clear specifications, documentation, and processes.
  • Support manufacturing process development to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Deliver training and ongoing support for new technologies, equipment, and procedures.
  • Identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with legal and business partners to support IP protection, licensing, and partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations; lead safety toolbox talks.

How You'll Make An Impact
  • Lead technology transfer projects from concept validation through full-scale production implementation.

  • Identify technical and operational challenges and proactively implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with legal and business partners to support intellectual property protection, licensing, and partnership initiatives.
  • Enforce absolute compliance with environmental, health, and occupational safety rules; lead routine safety toolboxes and verify safety gear availability.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science, or a related technical field).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technology transfer, R&D, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge on DRY transformer manufacturing, process and technology will be a plus.
  • Understanding of SAP (PP Module) while strictly adhering to international standards of product safety and technical quality, will be a plus.
  • Knowhow on critical technical process parameters to eliminate manufacturing defects and satisfy stringent quality protocols.
  • Proven success transferring complex technologies from development environments to production operations.
  • Implementation of process adjustment training sessions for operators when introducing new machinery or updated standard operating procedures.
  • Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and utilizing project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to travel overseas for a period of time for process benchmarking and documentation.
