We are seeking a customer-focused Help Desk / Technology Support Associate to provide first-line technical assistance and support the preparation, distribution, and maintenance of technology equipment. This position combines help desk responsibilities with hands-on hardware, inventory, shipping, and equipment-testing duties.
The ideal candidate can troubleshoot technical issues while delivering excellent customer service and accurately documenting information while speaking with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot Windows operating systems, hardware, networking, and application issues.
- Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Type detailed notes and document troubleshooting steps while speaking with customers.
- Record incidents, request details, issue classifications, resolutions, and escalations.
- Prepare and deploy equipment bundles for new installations.
- Receive, test, store, package, and ship technology equipment.
- Test new and returned equipment to verify functionality and quality.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and replacement services with customers and vendors.
- Process equipment returns and update customer inventory records.
- Track technology equipment orders and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with customer support, implementation, project management, vendors, and technical escalation teams.
- Develop and update clear knowledge-base articles and troubleshooting documentation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Tier 1 customer service representatives.
Required Qualifications
- Degree, equivalent training, or at least two years of relevant experience.
- Ability to type accurately while speaking with customers.
- Understanding of Windows operating systems, PC imaging, networking, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple incidents and requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Ability to consistently follow documentation procedures and meet deadlines.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70–75 pounds for short distances.
- Ability to work an eight-hour shift with overtime when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous healthcare industry experience.
- Clinical experience in nursing, coding, pharmacy, laboratory services, or a related area.
- Experience supporting multiple operating systems and mobile devices.
- Familiarity with technical procedures, utilities, and program scripts.
- Experience with equipment inventory, shipping, receiving, PC imaging, or hardware deployment.
