Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Research Associate and Technology Protection Analyst to join a small, mission-oriented team supporting national security programs. The role focuses on protecting critical technology data, developing updated strategies, and advising senior DoW leaders while leveraging AI tools.

The ideal candidate will hold an active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship, with 3–7 years in technology protection or related fields and experience with federal processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area; 3–7 years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to submit to a polygraph.
• U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance.
• Experience with technology protection, cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Experience leveraging AI tools and working knowledge of a programming language.
• Experience with DoD/federal government processes.
• Emerging leader with bias for action and collaboration on small teams.
• Experience with problem framing on complex technical issues.
• Experience with project management processes and tools.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and desktop applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of a small, tight-knit team supporting technology protection-related matters.
• Provide expertise and new ideas to team members and senior DoW leaders in developing updated strategies.
• Support high-ranking DoW executives and interact with their staffs.
• Utilize and build AI tools to support technology protection-related matters.
• Analyze and provide recommendations on technology protection issues from research through deployment.
• Coordinate with technology protection community representatives across the lifecycle.
• Compare and evaluate the relative merits of program activities and alternatives.
• Prepare reports and briefs summarizing events, requirements, deficiencies, and investments.
• Provide project management and task management to team workflows and projects.
