This is a Technology Project Management- Risk & Controls Metrics position at the Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for overseeing and leading the execution of multiple projects and/or programs, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives. Includes program management and related project support roles.

We’re seeking someone to join our team at a VP level as a Technology Risk & Controls Project Manager to lead the delivery of the technology key controls metrics.

Positioned to be the best in class of program execution across Technology at Morgan Stanley, the Strategic Programs Execution (SPE) is a Super Department in Cyber, Data, Risk and Resilience (CDRR). This function facilitates enhanced delivery capability to effectively manage the increasing pipeline of critical technology, regulatory, risk and control-based programs.

Metrics Uplift Program (MUP) is focused on ensuring that the Technology Division has a set of integrated, governed and appropriately reported & escalated metrics to measure key controls defined in the Technology Policy and associated standards.

The role is responsible for running MUP workstreams on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Program Manager, ensuring delivery of metrics with agreed quality, cost, and time constraints.

What you’ll do in the role

  • Collaborate with wide range of stakeholders across Morgan Stanley Technology teams to help ensure successful and timely delivery of the workstreams across project.

  • Develop project plans and obtain senior management approval.

  • Manage project administration, risks, change control, budgets, interdependencies, and governance reporting.

  • Manage delivery of project outputs.

  • Leverage AI to identify opportunities for efficiency gains.

  • Lead and motivate project teams.

  • Create project charters and initiation documentation.

  • Prepare steering committee materials and lessons learned.

  • Keep senior stakeholders informed.

  • Coordinate across specialist teams.

  • Engage with Audit and 2nd Line Assurance.

  • Manage financial planning and tracking.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven project management experience.

  • Have demonstrable experience of leading change as a project manager on large scale projects in a risk, controls, compliance or cyber environment

  • Solid proficiency in project and program methodologies across the full project lifecycle

  • Naturally proactive and ability to thrive where there’s ambiguity

  • Comfortable working with a high level of independence

  • Confidence to challenge & push back, and ability to change engagement approach to suit your audience

  • Focus on identifying opportunities to drive greater effectiveness and efficiency through automation and process streamlining

  • An interest in emerging technologies such as Generative AI and developing real-life applications in the program Mgmt. domain

  • Provide clarity and calmness during chaotic moments

  • Ability to quickly develop relationships coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficiency in using platforms such as JIRA

  • Relevant project or program management certification preferred.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $155,000 and $215,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
