Job summary

Bala Consulting Engineers is seeking a Technology Project Manager to oversee audiovisual projects from Wayne, PA, or Boston, MA offices, with on-site work in those locations. The role focuses on managing scope, client relationships, scheduling and financials for regional and national projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of AV systems design and PM experience, strong communication, and a degree in engineering, design or management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in audiovisual systems design and project management.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain complicated systems to non-technical clients.
• Revit experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering, design or management discipline.
• Detail oriented and able to multitask across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage scope, client relationships, scheduling, and project finances.
• Lead in OAC and A/E project meetings as Bala technology representative.
• Provide audiovisual design services on technology projects and assist on multi-discipline initiatives.
• Create deliverables including schematic design reports, audiovisual specs, equipment lists and budgets, field reports and punch lists.
• Assist in creating project deliverables including Revit-based drawings, system diagrams, mounting details and control room layouts.
• Perform high-level quality control on projects and develop relationships with clients to win new work.

Bala is hiring an experienced Technology Project Manager to work onsite in our Wayne, PA or Boston, MA office. This role manages select projects while developing and growing a group that can execute large scale projects on a regional and national basis. This person will also provide technical expertise, serve as a resource for the staff, and support the sales efforts by establishing and maintaining client relationships.

Responsibilities include:

• Project management functions include scope responsibilities, client management, scheduling, and financials.
• Participate and lead in OAC and A/E project meetings as a Bala technology representative.
• Provide audiovisual design services on technology projects within the office and assist on multi-discipline (Structured Cabling, Security, Building Systems, AV) projects.
• Lead in the creation of project deliverables including:
  • Schematic design reports
  • Audiovisual specifications, equipment lists and budgets
  • Field reports and punch lists
• Assist in the creation of project deliverables including:
  • Revit based drawing packages
  • Audiovisual system diagrams
  • Mounting details, rack and control room layouts
• Perform high level Quality Control on projects.
• Develop quality relationships with existing clients and end users. Build new relationships that will lead to new work.
• Review RFPs and create proposals.
• Assist in marketing and business development processes.
• Interact with the technology group and office leaders on office and strategic issues.

Desired skills and experience:

• Minimum of five years of experience in audiovisual systems design and project management.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain complicated systems in a way that a non-technical client can understand and make appropriate decisions.
• Revit experience is a plus.
• Detail oriented and organized while being able to multitask and shift priorities with ease.
• Additional design experience on any of the following: Structured Cabling, Access Control/Video Surveillance, Audiovisual, IoT/Building Systems Integration, Enterprise Technology Strategy, Distributed Antenna/Emergency Radio Systems, Wi-Fi/Network Design, Datacenter Design.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering, design or management discipline or history of continuing education and certification on technology design for the built environment.
