Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented associate with 4-7 years of experience to join their Technology Licensing, Data Privacy, and Security team in Chicago, IL. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Duties

• Advise clients on compliance with data privacy and cybersecurity laws and AI governance frameworks.
• Counsel clients on data asset management strategies and privacy program development.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial agreements, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
• Draft and review data protection agreements and IP provisions in corporate agreements.
• Advise on IP ownership, protection, and licensing strategies across industries.
• Lead and support incident response efforts, including breach investigation and reporting.
• Advise on AI governance, responsible AI deployment, and associated legal risks.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk analyses for regulated industries.
• Monitor legislative developments and advise on emerging obligations.
• Assist with regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver integrated solutions on transactions and compliance matters.
• Contribute to client-facing thought leadership, including alerts and webinars.
