Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey instructional certificate and subject area endorsement or eligibility – Technology Education or Television Broadcasting.
• Highly qualified teacher in area of instruction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.
• Working knowledge of computers desired.

Responsibilities

• Promotes active learning and skills development in the classroom by teaching with approved curricula and materials.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides opportunities for individualized and small group instruction.
• Sets specific objectives in lesson preparation and weekly plans and implements them in class.
• Assesses pupil progress and personal growth toward stated objectives.
• Maintains pupil progress records and reports grades as required.
• Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with staff to resolve learning problems.
• Maintains classroom standards and a positive climate conducive to learning.
• Manages class time effectively and communicates with parents about pupil progress.
• Participates in school planning, meetings, and activities; uses community resources to enhance instruction.
