Compensation: Salary range of $170,000.00 annually
Position Summary
The Technology Director is a strategic and hands‑on leader responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s technology vision to maximize operational efficiency and organizational impact. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role oversees the planning, implementation, and management of technology systems that support fundraising, grantmaking, operations, and communications. The ideal candidate will act as an internal technology champion, leveraging their expertise to optimize systems—including a complex, highly customized Salesforce environment—while guiding responsible adoption of emerging technologies such as AI. This role demands a collaborative leader with strong systems thinking skills, capable of working cross‑functionally to identify opportunities for process improvement, data integrity, and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement a forward‑thinking technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals. Assess needs, recommend scalable solutions, and lead initiatives to upgrade hardware and software systems.
- Salesforce Management: Serve as the internal Salesforce expert, overseeing customization, reporting, dashboard development, workflow automation, and system integrations. Proactively manage system updates and data quality.
- Systems Administration & Integration: Configure and maintain system settings, security, and user roles across various platforms. Ensure seamless integration between Salesforce, email marketing tools, contracts management systems, and the organization’s website.
- Partnership & Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors and MSPs to manage technology partnerships, hardware lifecycle, cybersecurity, and troubleshooting. Oversee ongoing system maintenance, upgrades, and security protocols.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Training: Partner with teams to leverage technology in streamlining workflows and advancing organizational objectives. Lead staff training on new systems and document processes for knowledge sharing.
- Innovation & Adoption of Emerging Tech: Stay informed on emerging technologies such as AI, evaluating their potential to enhance staff productivity and organizational impact. Lead the organization’s responsible integration of these tools.
- Staff Support & Role Modeling: Provide responsive technical support, foster a culture of continuous learning, and promote best practices across teams.
- Additional Duties: Manage related responsibilities as assigned to ensure a secure, efficient, and innovative technology environment.
Required Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of enterprise technology systems, cybersecurity, data management, and emerging tech trends including AI.
- Proven experience supporting and administrating platforms such as Salesforce, Tableau, Box, Klaviyo, and similar tools.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing comprehensive technology strategies that align with organizational priorities.
- Strong systems thinking, project management, and change management skills, with a track record of leading complex initiatives.
- Excellent communication and collaborative leadership skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Salesforce Development and Administrator certifications are preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with at least 3-5 years in a senior technology leadership role.
