Datwyler has developed disruptive elastomer‑based sensor and actuator technologies which have potential to greatly expand current product reach. A dedicated team is in place focusing on the industrialisation and commercialisation of the technologies across industries and markets. To enhance this talented team, we are looking for an engineer with a hands‑on, innovative and team‑oriented mindset.

Technology Development Manager (f/m/d)

As Technology Development Manager, you drive new technologies from initial concept through laboratory validation, ensuring alignment with real customer needs, industrialisation requirements, and manufacturing realities. In this role, we expect you to bring experience in sensing and actuation technologies across a range of markets.

Key responsibilities
  • Drive our sensor technology from lab prototype to robust, reliable performance
  • Define and track critical technical milestones (e.g., sensitivity consistency, temperature stability, long‑term drift)
  • Coordinate testing protocols to validate technology readiness and minimum viable product criteria
  • Collaborate closely with early‑adopter customers to understand requirements and conduct proof‑of‑concept testing
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) planning and scalability assessments
  • Identify potential production challenges related to sourcing, process repeatability, yield, cost, and quality control
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and potential customers
What We’re Looking For
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Robotics, Electromechanical systems or similar in combination with good software application skills and prototyping background
  • Deep technical understanding combined with a customer‑focused mindset
  • Self‑driven, hands‑on and result‑oriented character with good communication skills and passion for innovation and technology
  • Fluency in English required and in German strongly desired
