Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degrees in MIS, Accounting Information Systems, or equivalent; information systems with accounting dual major preferred
• Preference for CPA licensure or pursuing CPA/CISA
• Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday
• Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel, plus data analysis capabilities
• Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct IT audits and support capital markets by ensuring accuracy and reliability of client financial information
• Prepare clear, structured documentation of client processes and IT systems, identifying IT risk points and controls
• Evaluate client IT and business processes against frameworks to identify design/execution gaps and inform recommendations
• Execute testing of IT and automated controls with clear procedures and results
• Support data-driven audits using AI, BOTs, Dashboards, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, and Power BI
• Assist in system implementations and digital transformation reviews, tracking deliverables and communicating findings to teams and clients

KPMG is currently seeking a Technology Assurance Associate to join our Audit and Assurance team.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to play an integral role in conducting IT audits and serve the capital markets by helping ensure accuracy and reliability of client financial information while upholding the principles of objectivity and independence; contribute to the overall effectiveness of our clients operations while maintaining the highest standards of our professional integrity
• Learn to prepare clear and well-structured documentation regarding our understanding of client processes and information technology (IT) systems, including identification of IT risk points and IT controls that mitigate the risk points, primarily for financial services clients; translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights
• Evaluate client IT and business processes, risks, controls and compliance requirements against leading practices and relevant frameworks to identify gaps in design and execution and inform recommendations
• Execute and document testing of IT and automated controls (including IT security, programming and governance controls) with clear descriptions of procedures performed and results
• Support the data driven audit by utilizing a range of technologies and data analysis tools, such as artificial intelligence (AI), BOTs, Dashboards, Excel, Alteryx, SQL and Power BI
• Support system implementation/digital transformation reviews and project management, including: assessing control design and operating effectiveness and data migration completeness/accuracy; tracking status and deliverables; coordinating action items; communicating findings to engagement teams and client personnel; and building strong working relationships

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months: Bachelors degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, or equivalent program from an accredited college or university; Information Systems with an Accounting double major is preferred
• Preference for candidates pursuing the minimum educational requirements for CPA licensure in principal place of business (the state in which the office is located) for this position before beginning fulltime or candidates pursuing a CISA
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
• Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday is preferred
• Ability to leverage common business technologies (including MS Office - with an emphasis on Excel - AI and data analysis) and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications used by our clients
• Strong in technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment
• Strong communication, organization and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity
• Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation
• Technology Assurance professionals are expected to work in-person at a KPMG office or client site on an average of three days per week; some client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay (varies by office)
