UVA Health Outpatient Imaging Culpeper (OIC) is hiring a Full-Time Technologist Assistant in Culpeper, VA. The role supports imaging technologists, ensures smooth patient flow, and delivers a positive patient experience.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, certification in phlebotomy or Medical Assistant, and BLS within 60 days of hire. Prior phlebotomy/MA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Phlebotomist and/or Medical Assistant experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire; phlebotomy/MA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with check-in, screening forms, preparation and positioning.
• Start IVs under supervision and per state law.
• Review patient information and communicate questions to the technologist.
• Explain procedures and provide compassionate patient care throughout the visit.
• Follow imaging and MRI safety protocols; communicate safety concerns.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and minimize wait times.
• Stock supplies and prepare clinical areas; support RIS/PACS documentation.
• Support technologists and other imaging areas as needed.
• Participate in meetings, training and safety initiatives.

UVA Health Outpatient Imaging Culpeper (OIC) is seeking a Full-Time Technologist Assistant to join our outpatient imaging team in Culpeper, VA.

Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Mid-Shift with occasional Saturday coverage
Location: 509 S. Main St., Suite 100, Culpeper, VA 22701

The Technologist Assistant supports our imaging technologists, helps maintain efficient patient flow, and provides a positive and comfortable experience for our patients.

What You'll Do

• Assist patients with check-in, screening forms, preparation, transport, and positioning.
• Start IVs under the direction of a nurse or technologist and in accordance with applicable state law.
• Review patient information and communicate questions or concerns to the technologist.
• Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and provide compassionate support throughout the visit.
• Follow imaging and MRI safety protocols and communicate potential safety concerns.
• Help maintain efficient patient flow and minimize wait times.
• Assist with stocking supplies and preparing clinical areas.
• Maintain appropriate documentation in RIS and PACS.
• Support technologists and other imaging areas as needed.
• Participate in required meetings, training, and safety initiatives.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

• Certified Phlebotomist and/or Medical Assistant experience required.

EDUCATION:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Certification in phlebotomy and/or Medical Assistant.
