Job summary

SimonMed Imaging is seeking an Advanced Technologist Assistant to be onsite and perform a wide range of routine clerical, technical and patient-related tasks. You will assist radiology technologists in patient check-in, exam review and preparation, patient education and transportation.

The role requires interacting compassionately with patients from healthy to critically ill, with duties including room setup, insurance verification and providing high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assisting certificate is preferred.
• Ability to assist radiology technologists and perform clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiology technologists with patient check-in, exam preparation and setup.
• Greet visitors and guide them through check-in, verify insurance and inform about costs.
• Prepare imaging rooms and ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Explain imaging studies to patients and provide education as needed.
• Transport patients to and from exam rooms and maintain a clean work area.

As an Advanced TechnologistAssistant, you willbe onsite and able to perform a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The Advanced Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting radiology technologists in providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates competency in the performance ofjob-relatedskills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services.
• Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the patientregistration.
• Greets visitors/patients.
• Check-in process; Check-out process; Insurance verification process; Informs patients of costs for care being provided.
• Guides them to appropriate resources for further information.
• Answers telephones; Relays messages
• Sets up the imaging room to coincide with the examination being performed to include the use of proper isolations precautions when needed.
• Provide quality customer service, explains all studies to patient in a clear manner.
• Positions the patient, ensuring patient comfort and modesty.
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Prepares patients for exams by assisting with dressing and undressing, positioning patients for exams and escorting patients to and from the exam rooms.
• Must be able to interact compassionately and effectively with people who range from healthy to critically ill.
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.
• May be required to start IVs
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
