Job summary

Summer Garden Food Manufacturing seeks a Warehouse Technician for our SGF Warehouse. The role involves loading/unloading trucks, stocking raw materials and finished goods, and performing transfers between warehouses.

The shift is 6am–6pm, with Warehouse Manager reporting, and a focus on accurate order fulfillment and inventory control. The ideal candidate will have forklift certification, experience with handheld scanners, and knowledge of GMP/SQF policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years warehouse experience preferred.
• Good reading and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Receiving of goods and rotation of stock.
• Shipping and loading of outgoing orders with 100% accuracy.
• Transfer of goods between warehouses.
• Maintain inventory paperwork and counts.
• Stock production prep areas with materials.
• Assist in production as needed.
• Keep warehouse clean and organized.
• Adhere to safety rules 100% of the time.

Position Summary:

Load and unload trucks; put away and rotate stock both raw materials and finished goods; Handle transfers, loading and unloading transfer trailers; stock production prep areas; cycle counts for inventory control; maintain clean and organized equipment and warehouse.

Shift: 6am-6pm

Reports To:

Warehouse Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

RECEIVING OF GOODS:

• Unload finished product from the manufacturing plant and rotate the product according to the proper procedures

SHIPPING AND LOADING OF GOODS:

• Pull customer orders with 100% accuracy and on time delivery
• Load out-going orders / transfers
• Assure all loads are secure prior to their leaving warehouse

TRANSFER OF GOODS:

• Transfer raw material as necessary between warehouses
• Stock palletizer and remove finished goods for transfer
• Load Transfer Trailers

INVENTORY DUTIES:

• Maintain proper paperwork

STOCKING OF GOODS:

• Stock label room with trays /cardboard
• Stock production prep areas with raw materials as needed --- (get frozen products from trailers and freezer; produce room cooler and other raw material from south warehouse)

PRODUCTION DUTIES:

• Stock the production prep areas with raw materials as needed. (Frozen items from trailers and freezer, produce from cooler and other raw material from south warehouse.)
• Assist in Production as needed

WAREHOUSE CLEANLINESS:

• Keep warehouse clean and organized
• Empty trash and cardboard bailer
• Backup to other warehouse personnel as needed

SAFETY:

• Responsible to be educated and knowledgeable in safety rules and regulations and to work safely 100% of the time; manage, promote safety for all other employees in their duties

ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Requirements Necessary to Perform This Job Function:

EQUIPMENT CERTIFICATION: (Company can assist)

• Operate a forklift
• Operate Electric and manual jacks
• Know and understand the company’s GMP and SQF Policies
• Knowledge of FIFO and FEFO warehousing methods
• Be able to use handheld scanners

EDUCATION:

• High School Graduate or G.E.D. and/or minimum of 2 years warehouse experience
• Good common sense
• Good reading and math skills

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Must be in good physical shape with high stamina and dexterity
• Able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Ability to climb various types of ladders
• Good hand dexterity with both hands
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Able to bend and stoop easily
• Excellent eye sight with very good peripheral vision
• Able to work long hours when necessary; work overtime when it is needed
• Able to withstand extreme warehouse and outside temperatures of cold and heat
