Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for residential and commercial pumping and disposal of non-hazardous waste, with direct contact with Wind River Environmental customers. Responsibilities include operating a company service truck and transporting non-hazardous liquid waste to and between branch, disposal, and customer locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Follow safety rules and exercise safe work practices in accordance with WRE and DOT requirements.
  2. Practice safe work methods to remain accident and injury free. Recognize hazards in routine and non-routine tasks and adjust to avoid loss, injury, or accident.
  3. Prepare for each service job to maximize efficiency by following daily pre-trip and post-trip maintenance inspections.
  4. Provide excellent customer service.
  5. Complete and submit paperwork such as driver worksheets, timesheets, manifests, and disposal tickets.
  6. Work overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  7. Participate in on-call rotations as required.
  8. Operate vacuum pressure equipment.
  9. Load and unload the vehicle.
  10. Follow all Wind River Environmental service protocols.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  12. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

  • Exposure to outside weather conditions, non-hazardous fumes, and noise.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Interaction with customers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, maps, and road signs.
  • Effective communication with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer skills, including email and internet.
  • Basic math skills.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Class A CDL with willingness to obtain a tanker endorsement if requested.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional commercial driving experience.
  • Ability to pass DOT drug screening, medical certification, physical, and road exams.
  • Ability to operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • Ability to meet physical demands.
  • High school diploma.
