Job summary

Waste Pro USA is seeking an experienced technician to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body systems on heavy and light trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG variants. Welding and fabrication may be involved.

You will work on a range of fleets from diesel to CNG and receive ongoing development opportunities, a monthly tool allowance, and benefits including health, dental, vision, life, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of suspension inspection, diagnosis and repair.
• Knowledge of brake system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
• Knowledge of electrical system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
• Knowledge of hydraulic system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools with ability to interpret service manuals.
• Ability to estimate time and material for repairs.
• Mentor to Assistants and Shop Helpers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs and maintenance on equipment to maximize safety and productivity.
• Communicates with managers/drivers about vehicle issues and preventive techniques.
• Completes all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Uses vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes for repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.

Summary Of Position

Knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy duty and light duty trucks. This may include gasoline, diesel and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions

• Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Reviews and completes repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and/or repair orders.
• Communicates with managers/drivers as to issues with vehicles and discusses preventive techniques that minimize future repairs.
• Completes all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Conducts repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain high standard of Ethics and Dependability.

• Ability to complete work within Suggested Repair Times (SRTs) and the ability to estimate time and material required for repairs
• Knowledge to provide assistance and guidance to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• CDL Class B (preferred within 12 months)
