Job summary

KBR Government Solutions is seeking a Technician, Quality Inspection to support aerospace source inspection and quality strategy in manufacturing. You will work directly with customers to ensure compliance with quality requirements and project specifications.

The role involves inspecting components, validating certifications, and conducting audits of suppliers, with opportunities to train others and participate in design reviews for quality integration.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required with 3 years of experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints/drawings and other technical documents.
  • Trained in the use of TQ tools.
  • Must pass GD&T test by end of first week of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests, inspections, audits, and validations to ensure contract and client specifications.
  • Validate operator and special process certifications are current.
  • Inspect and surveil vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Use and maintain inspection tools and metrology equipment.
  • Perform sampling inspections per approved plans.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Provide training to other inspection staff.
  • Report activity status to management.

Job Summary

Quality Inspector - Aerospace Source Inspection:

In this role, you will be required to work directly with customers to satisfy quality standards and strategy in the manufacture of aerospace and electronic components.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Conducts tests, inspections, audits, and validations to ensure process compliance with contracts, our client and KBR's KAS group requirements and specifications for design, engineering, products, equipment, maintenance and services.
  • Validates that certification/calibration for operators and special processes is current.
  • Conducts inspections, evaluations and/or surveillance of vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Uses and cares for inspection tools, measuring and test equipment.
  • Conducts sampling inspections in accordance with approved plans and procedures.
  • Participates in root-cause-analysis.
  • Conducts follow-up audits to review the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
  • Collects and uses statistical data for the monitoring and evaluation of trends.
  • Provides training and tutoring to other inspection personnel.
  • Participates in design reviews to ensure inclusion of quality requirements.
  • Provides activity and status reports to management.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required plus 3 years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.
  • Full understanding of the quality system; understanding of quality processes.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret prints/drawings and other technical documents that describe the system and processes.
  • Ability to use most inspection tools, measuring and test equipment.
  • Trained in the use of TQ tools.
  • Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Must pass Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) test to be given by the first week of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous source inspection or supplier audit experience.
  • IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and/or IPC-A-600 certification.
  • Familiarity with AS9100.
  • Experience supporting NASA, DoD, aerospace, or other high-reliability manufacturing customers.
Travel Requirements
  • Local and regional travel required based on supplier support needs.
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain the ability to travel independently.
  • Mileage reimbursement provided in accordance with current federal reimbursement rates.
  • Lodging and Meals & Incidental Expenses (M&IE) per diem provided for qualifying travel in accordance with company travel policies.
This Position

This position is 20–30 hours per week and is eligible for full benefits. Hourly pay range: $26.00-$32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
