Job summary

Osmo in Elizabeth, NJ seeks a Quality Control Technician to support fragrance manufacturing. You will perform routine QC testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, document results, and assist with investigations into quality deviations. The role emphasizes GMP compliance and accurate data handling.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years in a QC lab, preferably in fragrance or cosmetics manufacturing, with GCMS familiarity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a quality control laboratory, preferably within fragrance, flavor, cosmetics, or specialty chemicals manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with fragrance QC testing practices, including physical, chemical, and basic sensory evaluations.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in documentation and data handling.
  • Foundational knowledge of GCMS systems with experience in reviewing raw materials and finished fragrance products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality control testing of fragrance raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
  • Prepare samples, reagents, and reference materials required for laboratory testing.
  • Accurately document analytical and observational results in laboratory records and quality systems, ensuring data integrity.
  • Review test results for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to reporting.
  • Conduct first-level out-of-specification (OOS) testing following established procedures.
  • Identify deviations, trends, or recurring quality issues and elevate them to the appropriate quality or operations personnel.
  • Support investigations related to quality deviations, non-conformances, or customer-related quality concerns.
  • Maintain assigned laboratory equipment, including routine calibration checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
  • Follow applicable GMP, safety, and quality standards relevant to fragrance manufacturing and laboratory operations.

The Technician, Quality Control supports fragrance manufacturing operations by performing routine quality control analyses, documenting and reporting results, and assisting with the processing of quality-related deviations. In this role, you will ensure that raw materials, intermediates, and finished fragrance products meet established specifications and comply with internal quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements. In addition, you will contribute to the production of safe, consistent, and high-quality fragrance products that meet customer and brand expectations.

  • Ability to work independently while adhering to written procedures and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting results and escalating quality issues.
  • Foundational knowledge of GCMS systems with experience in reviewing raw materials and finished fragrance products

Base Salary: $67k-81k

For all Full-Time Employees, compensation is just one component of Osmo’s total rewards approach, which is designed to support the well‑being, growth, and long-term success of our team members. Depending on the role, this may include base salary or contract-based pay, along with access to health, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match; flexible paid time off and company holidays; and equity or incentive compensation for eligible roles. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location, internal equity, and other relevant business considerations. Osmo regularly reviews pay ranges and compensation structures to ensure they remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with current market data.
