Job summary

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. in El Dorado, Arkansas, seeks a Pipeline Technician to maintain and operate pipeline assets, including valve manifolds, pig launchers/receivers, and control stations.

The role emphasizes preventive and remedial maintenance of instrumentation, valves, pumps, and electrical systems. You will work outdoors and indoors, follow safety procedures, and coordinate with the Area Supervisor to minimize downtime while meeting regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or GED.
VoTech certificate or associate degree in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation preferred.
Knowledge of design and operation of liquid or gas pipelines.
Valid driver’s license required.
2 years electrical maintenance experience with troubleshooting in pipeline facilities preferred.
Knowledge of motor controls, pumps, regulators, MOVs, and electrical voltage.
Basic math calculations and use of MS Word/Excel.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must be able to work in various conditions and lift up to 75 lbs.
Willingness to take on overtime and training.

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, valves, and electrical systems (up to 4160V).
Operate and maintain custody transfer measurement facilities and quality tests.
Maintain centrifugal pumps and electric motors; bearing/seal replacement and alignments.
Service mechanical equipment: valves, compressors, actuators.
Assist with replacement of pumps, motors and valves; foundation work, alignment, testing, startup.
Coordinate with Area Supervisor to minimize downtime and respond to trouble reports.
Optimize work to minimize overtime where possible.
Perform preventive maintenance and maintain safety and housekeeping.
Cross-train with other technicians.
Operate inline sampling equipment and assist with sampler pigs (cleaning pigs, smart pigs).
Follow environmental regulations and company policies; meet Operator Qualification requirements.
Attend training programs and safety meetings as required.

What you will be doing

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Our services include natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership’s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.

The Pipeline Technician maintains and operates pipeline assets including, but not limited to, valve manifolds, pig launchers and receivers, control, and pump stations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Maintain, troubleshoot and repair of instrumentation, valves, and electrical systems for manned and remote pipeline facilities (up to 4160V).

Maintenance and operation of custody transfer measurement facilities and perform product quality control tests.

Routine maintenance of centrifugal pumps and electric motors such as bearing and seal replacements, alignments, couplings, sumps, fans, drain piping modifications, etc.

Maintenance on other mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, valve actuators, etc.

Assist with replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment as needed, including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup.

Maintains close contact with the Area Supervisor regarding maintenance trouble reports and scheduled equipment maintenance to effect a minimum interruption of product throughput.

Ability to optimize work to affect a minimal amount of overtime.

Performs remedial and preventative maintenance and maintains facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping practices inside and outside of the facilities.

Participates in available cross training to effectively develop skills in areas specific to other technicians.

Maintenance and operation of various inline sampling equipment as well as sampling various products.

Launch and receive cleaning pigs and assist with the launch and receiving of smart pigs.

Knowledgeable of environmental regulations and Company policies.

Meet requirements of Company Operator Qualification Program, perform identified covered tasks, and remain compliant.

Attend training programs on a continuing basis, including computer-based training.

Attend all safety meetings and safety training courses as required by Company and regulatory agencies.

What Your Background Should Look Like (minimum Qualifications)

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications

A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.

VoTech certificate or associate degree in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation, Oil & Gas technical field or related work experience is preferred.

Must have knowledge of the general design and operation of a liquid or gas pipeline.

A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.

A minimum of 2 years electrical maintenance experience with troubleshooting capability in operations, maintenance, and/or construction of a hazardous liquid or gas pipeline facility, or a similar facility/system is preferred.

Experience and knowledge of industry related maintenance and repair standards is preferred.

Knowledge of motor control centers, centrifugal pump operations, regulators, MOVs, electronic controls and medium and high electrical voltage with an understanding of hazardous liquid pipelines is preferred.

The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.

Basic computer skills such as opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.

Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.

The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required.
