Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in providing patient care by prioritizing and processing medication orders, preparing medications for dispensing, and supporting distribution and stocking for patient care locations. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Arkansas state pharmacy registration, and preferred technician training.

Hospital experience is an advantage, with strong computer, typing, calculation, and communication skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration in the state where work is performed required.
• CPHT preferred.
• Technician training program/academy preferred.
• Previous hospital experience and medication distribution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Practices the Medication-Use Process: Procures, handles, prepares, distributes, charges/credits and disposes of medication safely and accurately.
• Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
• Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
• Participates in inventory management.
• Uses and maintains automation/equipment.
• Assists the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients.
• Contributes to goals, programs and report cards for operational unit and entity.
• Provides education/training.
• Completes assigned goals.
