Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in West Memphis, AR seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under RN supervision. You will perform basic patient care tasks, monitor vitals, assist with transport, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA program/certification, AEMT/Paramedic licensure, or MA certification preferred.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with the professional RN.
• Perform patient care tasks under the RN including vitals, glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, and venous compression devices.
• Perform basic patient care services under the RN including height/weight, intake/output, retrieve equipment and supplies, and stock rooms.
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free, and quiet patient environment.
• Assist patient/family communication: answer call lights, orient new patients, assist with discharge appointments.
• Promote safety through patient mobility assistance and safety rounds (4Ps).
• Promote comfort with water, ice, cups, pillows, blankets, and meal support.
• Transport non-monitored patients and assist RN with monitored/intubated transports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with the professional registered nurse.
• Performs patient care tasks under the direction of the RN including vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, venous compression devices
• Performs basic patient care services under the direction of the RN including height & actual weights, intake & output, retrieval of equipment & supplies, stocks patient rooms
• Maintains a conducive environment for the patient including clutter free rooms, removing linen/trash from rooms, quiet surroundings
• Supports patient/family communication needs including answering call lights, orienting new patients to the room, assisting with discharge appointments
• Promotes safety including assisting with patient mobility, safety rounds/4Ps
• Promotes comfort including providing water, ice, cups, pillows, blankets, assistance with meals
• Transports non-monitored patients
• Assists RN with monitored and/or intubated transports
• Performs other duties as assigned
