Job summary

Socket.dev seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to join Eyecare Associates of South Tulsa in Tulsa, OK. You will support physicians, obtain patient histories, perform preliminary diagnostic testing, and assist during exams.

The role emphasizes patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting with growth opportunities. Starting wage is hourly and based on experience and certification, with 6.5 paid holidays per year, accrued PTO, benefits eligibility, and a company-paid certification program for wage

Qualifications

• Experience in ophthalmic testing or related clinical procedures (preferred).
• Strong communication and patient-care skills.
• Ability to follow pre-examination testing protocols and assist during exams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures.
• Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
• Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
• Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
• Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (per ADA guidelines):

• Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, Stooping, Grasping, Lifting, Talking, Hearing.
• Physical requirements: Light work. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs. from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs. from shoulder to overhead.
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
