Job summary

GFL is seeking a Field Technician to support sewer cleaning, inspection and trenchless rehabilitation projects at customer sites. You will operate field and shop equipment, assist on crews, and participate in both scheduled and emergency projects.

Located in Byron Center, MI, this full-time role expects occasional overtime and weekends with room for advancement. Valid license, English proficiency, and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required with clean driving record.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently.
• Pass pre-employment criminal background screening and drug screening.
• Flexibility to changes in work schedule and availability for on-call.
• Provide excellent customer service when dealing with clients and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Assist sewer cleaning, sewer inspection and trenchless sewer rehabilitation.
• Operate various field and shop equipment including pressure washers, jetters and pumps.
• Support projects such as Confined Space Entry and Traffic Control.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Field Technician is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at customer sites including but not limited to loading and unloading tools, raw materials,
equipment, and supplies. This position takes an active role on crews by participating in both scheduled and emergency projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist sewer cleaning, sewer inspection and trenchless sewer rehabilitation

• Operate various pieces of equipment in the field and at our shop including but not limited

• to; pressure washers, jetters, and pumps

• Support various projects such as:

Confined Space Entry

Traffic Control

• Other duties as assigned

What the work environment looks like:

• Working in a variety of weather conditions

• Performing physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, under direction of crew

• leads

• Overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays

• Located in Byron Center, MI, no remote work available

• Full-time position with room for advancement
