First Solar Inc. seeks a Technician- Maintenance II to perform facility, equipment, and grounds maintenance across day/night shifts.

Responsibilities include on-site repair, data entry in CMMS, reading electrical and mechanical drawings, and collaboration with other departments to meet safety standards. The role requires a high school diploma/GED with several years of maintenance experience; Journeyman’s card preferred and CMMS familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience with facility/equipment preferred.
• Journeyman status or equivalent technical training is advantageous.
• Proficiency with CMMS and MS Office tools.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Safe work practices and OSHA guidelines are mandatory.

Responsabilités

• Perform maintenance of facility, equipment, and grounds in a timely, cost-efficient manner.
• Read prints/drawings and suggest modifications as required.
• Enter data and pull reports in CMMS; support cross-department work.
• Adhere to all safety practices and PPE requirements.
• Provide on-site service and repair of equipment; meet targets for repair times.

Job Description

Basic Job Functions:

Performs, as directed, all necessary maintenance of the facility, equipment, and grounds, in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma/GED and 3+ years maintenance experience, OR
• High school diploma/GED and 5+ years of experience in a related field, OR
• High school diploma/GED and 2-year technical school & 3+ years' experience.
• Journeyman's Card from an accredited apprenticeship program preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of CMMS is a plus but not required if coming in from the outside. Internal candidates need to know the CMMS system.
• Proven Communications Skills
• Ability to read prints and suggest modifications as required.
• Proven Electro/Mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Vacuum Systems and Robotic.
• Ability to follow Safe Work Practices.
• Full understanding of LOTO
• Ability to work independently with no supervision.
• Capable of troubleshooting to the systems level.
• Full knowledge of all PM's
• Must be capable of pulling reports and entering data or pass downs into/from the CMMS system.
• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
• Performs the on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Must meet at least 90% of Estimated Repair Times.
• Collaborates with other departments.
• Follows standard OSHA, EPA, and Company safe practices on all work assignments.
• Identifies and recommends opportunities for cost savings.
• May be asked to train other employees.
• If no tech III is available may be asked to fill in as Team Lead.
• Ability to read electrical & mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Responsible for adherence to all safety procedures, good housekeeping standards, and the wearing of PPE.
• Notify EHS Department if there are questions or concerns with the management of hazardous waste.
• Responsible to manage waste generated from any work that is performed.

• Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
• Will climb stairs or steps on a frequent basis.
• Will lift up to 58 pounds on an occasional basis, according to work instruction.
• Will lift up to 37 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Will push or pull up to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
• Will push or pull up to 37 pounds of force on a frequent basis.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
• 20/40 vision in each eye separately and both eyes (with or without correction), the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green and peripheral vision >70 degrees is required.
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
• May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
• Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including, but not limited to: steel-toed shoes, cut-resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection & respirators) as a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
