Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION
  1. Replaces or repairs equipment and/or component parts beyond skill level of production workers.
  2. Inspects equipment and analyzes maintenance needs.
  3. Performs electrical maintenance (including, but not limited to, electrical systems analysis - checks for shorts and repairs; replacement of defective wiring; installation and /or repair of minor electrical components (including, but not limited to, motors, receptacles, etc.; performs other electrical work as required).
  4. Performs mechanical maintenance (including, but not limited to, replacing or repairing air powered equipment, drive belts, drive chains, couplings and bearings; repairing any material handling equipment; repairing gear boxes, resin pumps, resin systems, etc.; replacing hydraulic components (including, but not limited to, valves, pumps, cylinders, etc.).
  5. Rebuilds and stores back-up equipment in the event of malfunction or breakdowns.
  6. Performs routine fire inspections and initiates corrective actions.
  7. Completes records and reports (including, but not limited to, mandrel change checklist, safety inspection reports, downtime reports, etc.).
  8. Requisitions spare parts and repair parts and forwards the requisitions to the appropriate personnel for final approval.
  9. Performs simple mechanical design work.
  10. Repairs, installs and/or maintains electrical units (including, but not limited to, mandrel flex pack; outside lighting installation; power tool overhaul; complete boiler installation; compressor valve and ring overhaul; sets air and fuel ratios for boiler; changes circuit boards; etc).
  11. Plans and participates in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  12. Participates in the safety and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
  13. Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.
