Job summary

Magna International Inc. within Cosma International seeks an experienced industrial maintenance technician to repair, install, and maintain facility systems in a manufacturing setting.

You will work to ensure product quality and compliance with ISO/TS and customer specifications, focusing on reliability and safety. You will perform electrical, HVAC, and mechanical tasks, inspect equipment, and support continuous improvement and preventive maintenance programs across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Four or more years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic machine-shop training or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and install low-voltage electrical circuits per NEC.
  • Operate and maintain HVAC systems.
  • Maintain building hardware and facility equipment.
  • Inspect facility equipment condition and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Identify continuous-improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Job Responsibilities

Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing facility equipment and systems while ensuring product quality and conformance to customer specifications. This position operates within documented quality and environmental systems, including QS-9000 and ISO 14001 requirements. The position has the authority to stop nonconforming processes and report issues to the supervisor, Quality Assurance, and/or Engineering representative.

Major Responsibilities
  • Repair and install low-voltage electrical circuits in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Operate and maintain chilled-water and recirculated-water systems.
  • Fabricate and install water, air, and wastewater piping and related equipment.
  • Service and repair heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Maintain building hardware and facility equipment, including doors, exhaust fans, plumbing fixtures, and dock equipment.
  • Repair flooring surfaces, including concrete, asphalt, ceramic tile, vitreous tile, and vinyl tile.
  • Inspect the condition of facility equipment, including pumps, roof fans, and blowers, using established preventive-maintenance procedures.
  • Identify continuous-improvement opportunities that improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain required documentation, including machine histories, preventive-maintenance check sheets, and logbooks.
  • Serve on the Emergency/Spill Response Team as assigned.
  • Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
Safety, Health, and Environmental Responsibilities

Support and comply with all TS 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and work instructions. Support a safe and healthful work environment free of recognized hazards for employees, contractors, and visitors. Cooperate with local, state, and federal agencies, including OSHA and the EPA, during inspections or other applicable activities. Know and follow all applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) rules, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Technical Education

Technical Education and Training Certification or documented training for maintaining HVAC equipment is required. Successful completion of training related to NEC standards is required. Basic machine-shop training or experience is preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Four or more years of relevant experience required. Industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Ability to move throughout the manufacturing plant.

Extended periods of sitting and standing may be required.

Frequent reaching, bending, and movement may be required.

Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds may be required.

Work may be performed in a loud manufacturing environment.

Compliance with required personal protective equipment is mandatory.

Travel Requirements

No travel is anticipated for this position.
