Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet of equipment across our locations. You will work in a safety-focused environment, building skills and contributing to uptime for customers.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing diesel and heavy equipment, using your tools, and collaborating with a team to ensure reliable operation of aerial work platforms, pumps, HVAC, and generators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school training preferred.
• 3–5 years mechanic experience with diesel/heavy equipment or related gear preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems; strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on equipment.
• Repair equipment to minimize downtime, ensuring safe operation.
• Work with a safety-focused team on a variety of equipment including pumps, Aerial Work Platforms, HVAC, gensets.

Sunbelt Rentals--the fastest growing rental business in North America--is seeking a Mechanic.

This mechanic/technician role performs preventive maintenance, performs diagnostics and makes repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily include Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Our specialty lines locations may have a fleet of large-scale power-generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas related equipment.

Education or experience that prepares you for success:

• High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired
• 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities you may rely on:

• May need to provide mechanic's tools of the trade.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting skills
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs

Base Pay Range:

$21.38 - 29.39

Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
