Job Summary

Under the direction of Chemist or Engineer, the Lab Technician II must be able to perform sampling and testing of admixture products as directed. Reports deviations from standards immediately to supervisor. The Lab Technician must perform the work activities in a correct, accurate, and timely fashion due to the fact every single work activity in our line of business is crucial for the whole operation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform mortar and concrete testing procedures, and other tests that lead to certificates.
  • Create simple reports.
  • Perform other testing related to admixtures QC.
  • Analyze testing data.
  • Keep track of materials inventory.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment i.e. PPE, 5S, Take 5.
  • Assist other areas as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions and deal with simple problems from standardized situations.
  • Basic mathematical skills, algebra and common units of measurements.
  • Ability to read and understand English sufficiently to be able to read basic technical information, reports, and to recognize differences between words, including safety issues and related matters.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and/or moving 75 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend additional training presented to him/her in relation to the performance of the work duties.
  • High level of attentiveness and physical coordination to perform the work activities safely and productively.
  • Ability to obtain ACI Certification within 6 months of employment.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Normal office environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Long periods of standing and/or walking required.
  • Some exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to talk and hear to communicate with employees/visitors and function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions including but may not be limited to pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
  • Must wear protective equipment while on the job.
