Job summary

Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated in Charlotte is seeking a Laboratory Technician to test and monitor finished beverage products and water treatment, ensuring compliance with QA specs and regulatory requirements.

You will calibrate lab instruments, input data into Altizon, and maintain records while supporting a 2nd shift schedule (2pm–10:30pm) with weekends/holidays as needed. We offer career growth, competitive benefits including 401(k) match, health coverage, and an employee stock purchase

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Up to 12 months of work experience helpful.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and SOPs.
  • Basic laboratory knowledge and aseptic techniques preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills; Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tests to ensure product and package quality meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Create holds on raw materials and conduct investigations.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
  • Input results into Altizon and maintain testing records.
  • Perform water treatment quality tests per company specs and regulatory requirements.
  • Create quality holds on finished beverages for containment and investigation.

Job Overview

The TechnicianLaboratory tests and monitors finished beverage products and water treatment to ensure results are in accordance with company quality assurance specifications and regulatory requirements. The TechnicianLaboratory calibrates lab instruments and inputs data per record of results.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs tests to ensure product and package quality of finished beverage products are within company quality specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Creates holds on raw materials and do investigations and follow-up
  • Maintains and calibrates lab equipment to ensure measurement accuracy
  • Maintains testing and calibration records and results through data entry into Altizon
  • Performs water treatment quality tests following company quality specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Creates quality holds on finished beverage products for containment and investigation when quality tests do not meet specifications
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to follow work instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures
  • Understanding of a laboratory environment and laboratory practices preferred
  • Basic microbial knowledge and aseptic techniques
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures, flexible shifts, and weekend and holiday work based on business needs unless specified otherwise by a CBA
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25lbs.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge acquired through up to 12 months of work experience
