A leading company in life sciences is seeking an R&D Temporary to assist in laboratory experiments and data analysis. GENERAL SUMMARY
The R&D Temporary is responsible for performing laboratory experiments; pilot scale experiments; collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and compiling data and results under the supervision of the R&D group leader and scientists. The R&D Temporary maybe required to assist the fabrication, modification, and maintenance of experimental apparatus. The R&D Temporary is expected to assist in the preparation, set-up, and execution of production scale membrane casting runs and characterization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the guidance of the R&D group leader and scientists, the R&D Temporary is responsible for performing the following duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision:

1. Calculate and prepare laboratory formulations and chemical solutions.
2. Perform laboratory screening of new membrane formulations
3. Perform screening of new membrane formulations working with manufacturing equipment and personnel duringR&D pilot runs.
4. Assist in preparation, set-up, and execution of R&D and manufacturing scale experimental runs.
5. Collect, analyze, interpret, and report data and experimental findings.
6. Fabricate and/or modify experimental apparatus or manufacturing equipment.
7. Assist in the development of new testing methods or procedures.
8. Perform routine and specialized QC of developmental membranes.
9. Provide general laboratory and administrative support including, but not limited to, inventory maintenance, safety audits, and maintenance and upkeep of the laboratory and warehouse.
10. Perform other general support duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

1. Must have an AA or higher completed degree/diploma in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Biology or a related field or 2-3 years of laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
2. Able to work at least 30 hours per week, but may work 40+ hours per week
3. Critical thinking and good problem-solving skills.
4. Detail oriented, diligent, careful in observation and work.
5. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. The desire and ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced team environment. Being adaptable and open to change.
8. Effective time management skills and able to manage multiple tasks, while maintaining proper attention to detail.
9. Strictly adhering to safety policies and guidelines.

Reports to: Life Sciences R&D Group Leader
May be supervised by assigned project leader(s).
