The Family Service Coordinator, a grant-funded position, implements and maintains family-based case management for families at the Judy Center. The Family Service Coordinator assists with implementing, monitoring, and hosting early childhood programs and services for children and families served by the Judy Center to address the Component Standards of the Maryland State Department of Education Judy Centers. The Judy Center serves children birth through five years of age and their families by providing comprehensive early care and education services to promote continuous improvement toward child development and school readiness. The FSC collaborates with families to set goals and partners with community agencies to achieve them. This role involves identifying and recruiting young children and their families to use available services that enhance school readiness.

Essential Functions
  • Provider Collaboration: Responsible for partnering with community providers and collaborating with agencies providing services for young children (aged birth through five) and their families.
  • Case Management & Service Coordination: Manages cases and coordinates comprehensive services tailored to young children and their families.
  • Family Communication & Support: Communicates effectively with families, maintains a family-centered and strength-based approach, and focuses on establishing trusting relationships.
  • Documentation & Data Management: Maintains accurate data records for evaluation purposes and tracks referrals for comprehensive services.
  • Program Planning & Co-Facilitation: Assists in planning programs and co-facilitating sessions or services.
  • Parenting & Home Improvement: Helps parents improve their skills to optimize the home environment and strengthens the parent-child relationship.
  • Empowerment & Advocacy: Enhances family support systems and increases the family's ability to problem-solve and advocate for themselves and their children.
  • Utilizes resources appropriately to complete work in the most efficient manner; proactively communicates the status of work; participates and contributes fully as a team member; and exercises sound judgment and decision-making skills to resolve sensitive matters.
  • Maintains confidential and sensitive information.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies, administrative regulations, and professional standards.

Maximum Salary 87698.00

Minimum Salary 56942.00

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education or equivalent relevant professional experience required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least two years of relevant full-time professional experience.
  • Ability to interact with diverse constituencies and convey complicated information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Proficient skill in the use of technical computer applications, including electronic databases, case management systems, and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Skill in research, presenting, and explaining policies and procedures, assembling data, preparing complex reports, and formulating and presenting recommendations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with school system employees and managers at all levels, as well as government agencies and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize changing assignments, and organize busy workload, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure, while exercising excellent attention to detail.
