Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Technician IV to manufacture animal health vaccine active ingredients in a controlled aseptic environment.

You will lead preparation activities, ensure SOP compliance, and train teammates, contributing to quality and regulatory standards. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant lab or manufacturing experience and strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform preparation of vaccine components in aseptic clean room using virus/bacterial culture techniques per USDA regulations.
• Ensure SOP compliance; train and coach current and new employees as needed.
• Review in-process documentation for accuracy and compliance; maintain technical data and support docs.
• Initiate or participate in root cause analysis; implement corrective actions and address production issues.
• Demonstrate commitment to EHS programs and initiatives.
• Assess individual performance for continuous improvement (AAI).
• Support site projects including deviation and change control management.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading and performing the activities associated with the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic clean room environment utilizing virus/bacterial and cell culture techniques according to USDA regulations.
• Ensure compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures during execution of processes. Perform training and coaching of current and new employees on required skills.
• Review in process documentation for accuracy and compliance in a timely manner; maintenance of technical data and support documentation
• Initiate/ participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions to address problems; escalation of production flow disturbances.
• Demonstrate a visible and tangible commitment to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) programs and initiatives.
• Assessment of individual performance in regards to the continuous improvement (AAI)
• Participate and provide support to site projects and initiatives (including deviation and change control management).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Biology Degree or related field from an accredited institution, with three years or more (3+) years of laboratory experience and/or manufacturing experience.
• Basic math skills, equipment/automation trouble shooting skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other database software systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
