Job summary

GFL Environmental Services is seeking a field labor candidate to safely and efficiently complete tasks across our core service lines. The role involves site preparation, hazards identification, PPE usage on HAZWOPER sites, and adherence to safety protocols.

Applicants should have prior experience around heavy equipment, be able to work outdoors year-round in all weather, and pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screenings.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working around heavy equipment preferred.
  • Must be able to work outside year round in all weather conditions.
  • Pre-employment drug and criminal background screening required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare sites, power washing/hydro blasting, digging, sweeping, entering confined spaces, and remove hazardous waste after training.
  • Identify hazards as observed for safety of personnel and equipment.
  • Requires the ability to properly wear, use, and maintain PPE on HAZWOPER sites.
  • Uniforms and all PPE provided.
  • Monitor job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Diversity of projects leads to varying physical demands and environmental conditions.
  • May work in extreme environments (heat, cold, heights, chemicals, loud noises, dangerous equipment).
  • May be exposed to standing, walking, crouching, use of hand tools, and heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by site superintendent or management.

Responsible for safely and efficiently completing tasks and duties associated with industrial field labor. Job Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare sites and may include power washing/hydro blasting, digging, sweeping, entering confined spaces, and remove any hazardous waste materials after appropriate training.
  • Identify any hazards as observed for safety of personnel and equipment.
  • Requires the ability to properly wear, use, and maintain personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) on HAZWOPER sites.
  • Uniforms and all PPE provided.
  • Monitor job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Due to the diversity of both scheduled and non-scheduled projects, physical demands, and environmental conditions vary significantly depending on the project.
  • May work in environments that are extreme in nature like environmental conditions such as heat, cold, heights, hazardous chemicals, loud noises, dangerous equipment, long hours etc.
  • May be exposed to varying levels of physical activities and physical extremes such as long periods of standing, walking, crouching, use of hand tools, and heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by site superintendent, or management.
