Job summary

The Field Technician at GFL Industries performs tasks to aid daily operations at customer sites, including loading and unloading tools, materials, equipment, and supplies, and participates in scheduled and emergency projects.

• Operate field equipment and shop tools including pressure washers and jetters.
• Support environmental projects such as Confined Space Entry.
• Trailer jetter operation and power washing tasks.
• Assist vacuum truck operators with hoses and equipment.
• Manage hazardous materials cleanup and containerized waste labeling.
• Uphold health and safety policies to protect crew and customers.

Overview

The Field Technician is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at customer sites including but not limited to loading and unloading tools, raw materials, equipment, and supplies. This position takes an active role on crews by participating in both scheduled and emergency projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various pieces of equipment in the field and at our shop including but not limited to pressure washers and jetters


• Support various environmental projects such as Confined Space Entry


• Trailer jetter operation


• Power washing


• Assist vacuum truck operators with hose


• Waterway response


• Hazardous materials clean up


• Manifesting and labeling of containerized waste


• Ensure the health and safety of the crew, customer, and site by adhering to safety policies and procedures by identifying, communicating, and mitigating hazards


• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

• Working in a variety of weather conditions


• Performing physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, under direction of crew leads


• Overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays

Located in Byron Center, MI, no remote work available

Full-time position with room for advancement
