Job summary

Charles River is hiring for an entry-level to associate level position in Wayne, PA to support Next Generation Sequencing testing services under direct supervision. You will perform laboratory tasks including reagent prep, aseptic technique, and data recording, following cGMP guidelines and SOPs.

Responsibilities include assays for DNA/RNA, PCR, library prep and sequencing, plus routine GMP reporting and data analysis. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years related experience in biological lab.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs or regulatory affairs preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory activities necessary for next generation sequencing testing including but not limited to;
  • Reagent preparation including buffers, chemical solutions, complex mixtures and media preparations according to standard test methods.
  • Perform tasks using aseptic techniques including work within a biological safety cabinet.
  • Participate in the general maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct aseptic growth and/or manipulation of bacteria, yeast, virus and mammalian cells.
  • Make detailed observations and accurately and precisely record data, summarize data for reports and document all activities performed in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP)
  • Perform a variety of molecular biology-based laboratory experiments, test and procedures including isolation and analysis of DNA and RNA, PCR, library preparation and next generation sequencing;
  • Write routine GMP reports.
  • Report results of experiments, test, and procedures and analyze data.
  • Efficiently organize and plan daily activities.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Follow all SOPs, STMs, and cGMP guidelines as they relate to specific tasks.
  • Heightened awareness for the role of cGMP in daily activities.
  • Assist in training of subordinate personnel on known tests and procedures.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsible for performing daily laboratory tasks as they relate to Next Generation Sequencing Testing Services.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Biology or related discipline.

  • Experience: 1 to 2 years related experience in biological lab.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

  • Other: Knowledge of cGMPs or regulatory affairs pertaining to the pharmaceutical and biological industries is preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to maintain communication across biological functional groups. Able to communicate effectively in a group or one on one setting. Basic Microsoft Office skills are a plus.


Compensation Data

The pay rate for this role is $27.88 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
