Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, fit, and modify high/medium voltage assemblies and sub-assemblies per drawings and instructions.
  • Follow drawings and procedures, maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Complete ISO and quality checklists and production paperwork as required.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wiring operations.
  • Maintain Kanban inventory and report shortages.
  • Inspect assemblies for security, cleanliness, and workmanship.
  • Assist engineering, drafting, and supervision with development or prototype work.
  • Train and coach colleagues to support knowledge transfer.

Job description

Technician II, Framing/Outside Steel, 2nd Shift.

Rate: $20.00 per hour. Core hours are Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Position eligible for a variable pay incentive program.

What you’ll do
  • Assemble, wire, fit, and modify work in the manufacture of medium and high voltage, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and any sub‑assemblies associated with these.
  • Follow manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and written or verbal instructions from supervisors or engineering, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Complete ISO checklists, quality checklists, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists as required by supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wiring operations as needed.
  • Regularly lift, handle, and assemble heavy copper components.
  • Maintain minimum Kanban inventory levels and promptly report shortages to the appropriate operators.
  • Inspect all assemblies to ensure hardware is secure and nothing is missing, and confirm overall cleanliness and workmanship.
  • Respond to change notices, customer‑requested adjustments, and development‑related updates.
  • Assist engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer‑driven development or prototype work.
  • Work from detailed drawings, sketches, manufacturing information, and supervisor or engineering instructions, adhering to all established procedures.
  • Effectively train and coach colleagues to support knowledge transfer and skill development.

Qualifications
Basic
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Greenwood facility (50‑mile radius) will be considered for this position.
Preferred
  • 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience.
  • 1 year of experience using hand and air tools.
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent.
Position Criteria
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime to support business needs.
  • Able to safely and effectively use various hand tools, power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble units.
  • Proficient in standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook and job‑specific software such as Enovia.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, or sit for periods of time.
  • Reach at or above shoulder level; use hands to handle, feel, and grip materials or tools.
  • Stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull as part of regular job duties.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Push or pull loads up to or exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Use near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.
Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing noise.
  • Frequent exposure to dust and typical industrial conditions.
