An established industry player is seeking a Technician I - OSP to join their dynamic team. The Technician I - OSP must learn and possess the skills required to function as a contributing member of the OSP team. Typically, the Technician I - OSP possess no experience to one (1) year of experience in the structured cabling industry.
The Technician I - OSP must be able to work in outdoor (heat, rain, snow, etc.) or indoor construction environments. Must withstand prolonged and repeated physical activities such as lifting (including overhead), standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, crawling, pulling, and shoveling. Must be self-motivated, positive, professional, and contribute to project process improvements. Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements. Capable of working at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds. Must have good vision to distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals. Ability to travel within the territory as needed.
Screwdriver (regular and Phillips), torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves, muck boots/water boots.
High School diploma or GED. 0-1 year experience in telecommunications or related technical field. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Basic construction knowledge preferred. Ability to effectively use listed tools. Ability to meet company driving standards preferred.
