Job summary

Museum Associates in Los Angeles is seeking a Technician I who reports to the Manager to provide technical support to the museum and the Audio Visual department. The role operates projections, video systems, lighting, and sound reinforcement for programs and events.

You will design and run lighting and stage systems, create AV presentations, coordinate with museum departments, and maintain reliable attendance. Degree in Film/AV and at least two years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Film, Audio Visual, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in concerts, theater, film, or video including lighting design and stage management.

Responsibilities

  • Operates data/video projections system, DCP, video files, 16/35/70mm, DVD, or Blu-ray designs, engineers, and operates sound reinforcement for music programs, performance art, and PA presentation systems
  • Designs and operates complex lighting and stage systems for theatrical or music presentations
  • Designs complex audio and visual presentations for various events
  • Creates, operates, and troubleshoots PowerPoint and other data presentations for all museum departments and events
  • Organizes and creates video productions for support of PPT presentations, web media, communications, marketing, development, and promotional media
  • Researches and advises on improved and updated audiovisual practices and hardware
  • Coordinates with all museum departments, administration, development, special events, councils, education, communication, curators, and outside guest speakers to organize, set up, and display a complete professional presentation
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
  • Mantains regular and reliable attendance

Job description

  • Designs and operates complex lighting and stage systems for theatrical or music presentations

  • Designs complex audio and visual presentations for various events

The expected hourly rate for this Los Angeles, CA-based position is $24.50, subject to change.


Qualifications:


  • Degree in Film, Audio Visual, or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience and/or training in concerts, theater, film, video, including lighting design and stage management
