Job summary

Aecon is seeking an HVAC Technician to join our nuclear services team in Aiken, SC. You will troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC and water/heating equipment, perform installations and repairs, and ensure safety procedures are followed on a high-velocity site.

We value integrity, strong customer service, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. A valid license and willingness to advance technical knowledge are required.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of HVAC installation, maintenance, or service experience.
  • 313A/313D certification considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of brazing, soldering, and welding.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC and W/H equipment issues.
  • Resolve product or service problems by investigating needs and selecting best solutions.
  • Serve customers by resolving product and service challenges and providing information.
  • Educate customers on new equipment and technologies.
  • Present customers with information and pricing on service offerings and upgrades.
  • Complete approved repairs and installations within industry-standard timelines, following safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
  • Contribute to team effort and foster an inclusive culture on site.

What is the Opportunity?

As an HVAC Technician, you will report to the Field Supervisor and be responsible for completing HVAC service and installation jobs for our customers.

Citizenship:

This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.

What You'll Do Here:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC and W/H equipment issues.
  • Resolves product or service problems by investigating the client/customers needs, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution for the problem, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Serves customers by resolving product and service challenges, as well as providing relevant product and service information that helps solve them.
  • Educate customers on new equipment and technologies.
  • Present customers with information and pricing on service offerings, accessories, quality, cost, and other relevant home comfort improvements.
  • Complete approved repairs and installations within industry-standard timelines, following proper safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging
What You Bring:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC and W/H equipment issues.
  • 10 or more years of experience as an HVAC installation, maintenance, or service technician.
  • 313A/313D certification considered an asset.
  • Knowledge with brazing, soldering, and welding
  • Experience following controls/wiring schematics and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication, team player and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a winning attitude to go above and beyond
  • Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge.
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
