Job summary

Walmart is seeking an experienced Facilities HVAC/Refrigeration technician to repair and maintain commercial refrigeration systems across its stores. You will diagnose equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and document activities in the work order system.

Health and safety compliance is essential, with EPA refrigerant handling certification and a valid driver’s license. This role requires the ability to lift heavy loads and work at heights on a fast-paced retail campus.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience.
• EPA Certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or Universal).
• Valid state driver’s license with clean MVR.
• 18+ with HS diploma or equivalent.

Job description

• Support and oversee repair of Walmart facilities’ refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets


• Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs


• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities


• Support stores and store associates


• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls


• Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues


• Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely


• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policy, and environmental guidelines

Requirements

• 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance


• Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience


• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling


• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report


• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent


• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls


• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field


• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling


• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman


• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years


• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years


• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years


• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years


• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently
