Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ mechanical maintenance or construction-related experience.

What you’ll do… Role summary: The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting technical schematics, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician supports preventive maintenance programs, leads field teams, and communicates effectively with customers and management. Operating company vehicles and participating in on-call rotations are essential. This position requires adherence to established policies and standards while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence across multiple facilities.

What you’ll do

Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational standards. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk-ins, and HVAC systems to maximize equipment longevity and efficiency. Adhere to OSHA and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols during all service activities. Lead and mentor field teams, providing technical guidance and promoting safety practices. Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory. Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.

What you’ll bring

Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings. Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration and compliance. Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs. Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols with strict adherence to safety regulations. Strong communication skills to effectively explain technical issues and collaborate with customers and team members. Capability to lead and mentor technicians while managing service calls and workload using digital tools. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles safely for service calls and on-call duties.

Hourly Wage Range

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls. Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field. Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling. Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman. Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report. Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years. Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program, Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located, Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams., Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
