Walmart in NATCHITOCHES, LA is seeking a Technician, Facility Services, Exterior to maintain safe exterior operations, operate heavy machinery, and coordinate seasonal maintenance while ensuring OSHA/EPA compliance.

Qualifications

• No more than two moving violations in the last 3 years for commercial driving.
• DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
• Read and speak English.
• 2 years' experience in landscaping/gardening.

Role summary: The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and efficient exterior facility operations. This role involves managing seasonal maintenance activities, operating heavy machinery, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The technician supports cost control through effective resource management and collaborates with management and third-party providers to uphold quality standards. By addressing facility needs and coordinating repairs, this position contributes to sustaining a secure and well-maintained environment that supports operational excellence and aligns with company policies and ethical standards.

About the team: The Facilities Services team ensures safe and efficient store operations by managing HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and building systems. Senior Technicians independently diagnose and resolve complex issues to maintain continuous service. The team emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and safety while delivering operational excellence. Members develop technical expertise through hands-on problem-solving and managing urgent challenges. This dynamic environment offers meaningful work supporting store functions and enhancing the customer experience. What you’ll bring

• Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Experience in managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer service issues effectively.
• Competence in budget preparation, cost control, and procurement of parts, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to lead third-party providers and coach associates to foster professional growth.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with management and support teams.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
• No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
• No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
• As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
• 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry

Preferred Qualifications

• Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner's Certification (MEC) card, Associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
• Experience in third-party management.
• Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
