Qualifications

Position summary

The Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, is responsible for managing and executing exterior maintenance projects to ensure safe, functional, and sustainable facility environments. This role involves coordinating resources, overseeing third‑party providers, and maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The position requires technical expertise in equipment operation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance, alongside effective communication with facility users and leadership. The Technician supports cost control initiatives, plans work assignments, and drives continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency and uphold Walmart’s standards of integrity and service excellence. About the team: The General Facilities Maintenance team ensures Walmart stores operate safely and efficiently through preventive maintenance and timely repairs. This team applies expertise in electrical diagnostics and facility upkeep to address equipment and fixture needs promptly. Members coordinate work orders, manage schedules, and support operational goals while adhering to safety and quality standards. The team fosters a professional environment focused on continuous improvement, effective communication, and delivering reliable facility services that support store operations and enhance the overall customer experience.

What you’ll do

What you’ll bring
  • Proven experience in facility maintenance, including exterior services and seasonal upkeep.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations with a commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Skilled in managing budgets, cost control, and procurement of parts, materials, and equipment.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead third-party providers and conduct quality assurance inspections.
  • Effective problem‑solving skills with experience in troubleshooting and resolving customer facility issues.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize work assignments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation details

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum qualifications
  • 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
  • Valid state‑issued driver's license.
Preferred qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.,
