Job summary

Ezee Fiber seeks a FTTH Network Technician to configure, install and test equipment in FTTH control facilities. You will maintain DC power systems, active Ethernet devices, and PON OLTs.

The role includes outdoor fiber cabling work and collaboration with other Ezee Fiber teams to complete installations on tight timelines. The ideal candidate has experience with telecom facilities, DC power, and fiber systems, plus strong communication skills and the ability to work outdoors.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, IT, telecommunications, or related field.
2+ years experience as Installer/Technician or similar role.
Experience with telecom facilities installations.
Basic understanding of networking components.
DC power systems and cabling experience.
Fiber optic cabling and cable management.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain DC power systems, battery banks, and telecom inverters.
Grounding and power cabling of devices.
Install and maintain facilities sensor equipment.
Monitor facilities’ environment.
Install and test FTTH services and equipment.
Provide field support to Network Engineering group.
Document FTTH facilities.
Maintain FTTH network equipment inventory.
Test and validate new FTTH zones.
Liaise with contractors and internal contacts.

JOB SUMMARY

An Ezee Fiber FTTH Network Technician will primarily focus on configuring, installing & testing equipment in our FTTH control facilities. This role will include maintaining DC power systems, active Ethernet devices & PON OLT systems. The FTTH Network Technician will also be expected to install & maintain fiber optic cabling inside the control facilities. A well-rounded technician will work with various other Ezee Fiber personnel to complete new installations on an aggressive timeline. All of the FTTH control facilities are roadside telecom cabinets, which means the work associated with this position will mostly be outdoors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Install & maintain DC power systems, battery banks, and Telecom Inverters

Grounding and power cabling of devices

Install & maintain facilities sensor equipment

Routine monitoring of facilities’ environment

Installation & testing of FTTH services & equipment

Provide Field support to the Ezee Fiber Network Engineering group

Collect documentation for FTTH facilities

Assist in maintaining FTTH network equipment inventory

Testing & validation of new FTTH zones

Provide technical expertise to other Ezee Fiber departments

Maintain relationships with contractors & internal contacts

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Requirements: Associate degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience with telecom facilities installations

Basic understanding of networking components

Professional experience with DC power systems and cabling

Cable management of fiber optic cabling

At least 2 years of experience as Installer, Technician, or equivalent role

Ability to lift up to 55 pounds

General computer fluency

Excellent verbal & written communication

Mastery of MS Office applications

Self-motivated & able to drive projects forward

Ability to work outdoors for extended periods

Preferred

Knowledge of Eltek power systems

Formal Electrical Safety Training or Certification

Experience installing OLT platforms

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network- preferred

Valid driver license - required

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Standard daily travel to assigned territories is required for this position (up to 30% of the time within a 10-mile radius)
